Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development Center and the Faculty of Education Sciences organized the Annual National Doctoral Conference at East European University (EEU) on September 2 of the current year.
The aim of the conference was to create a platform within which doctoral students could express their positions, exchange ideas and findings, improve research skills, and conduct productive discussions. The event promoted dialogue and cooperation between representatives of different disciplines.
The conference was opened by the head of the EEU Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development Center, Professor Paul Gibbs, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the East European University, Shalva Machavarian.
East European University Rector Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Makharashvili, Deputy Director of the National Center for Education Quality Development Lasha Margishvili, Chairman of the Academic Board of EEU, Professor Davit Cherkezishvili, welcomed the participants.
Experts in the field, EEU students, staff, and other invited guests attended the conference.
More than 40 doctoral students from 14 different private and public universities in Georgia participated in the conference. The event took place in four parallel sessions:
- Education (Moderators: Prof. Paul Gibbs, Prof. Shalva Tabatadze, Prof. Davit Cherkezishvili, Assoc. Prof. Ketevan Aptarashvili)
- Law and Business (Moderators: Prof. Shalva Machavariani, Prof. Zviad Rogava, Prof. Avtandil Gagnidze, Prof. Shalva Kvinikhidze, Prof. Davit Bostoganashvili, Prof. Davit Sikharulidze)
- Social and Political Sciences (Moderators: Prof. Giorgi Tavadze, Assoc. Prof. Zurab Aznaurashvili, Assoc. Prof. Sopo Chkopoia)
- Medicine and Science (Moderators: Prof. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Prof. Pavle Tchelidze, Prof. Tamar Varazi)
During the conference, interactive workshops and panel discussions were held, aimed at promoting the development of critical skills for the doctoral student, including, effective communication, research methodology, academic writing skills, and career development. During the activities, PhD students received valuable advice from experts in the field.
The papers presented at the Annual National Doctoral Conference will be published in the form of a collection of scientific papers.
All participants of the event were given certificates.
