Joint Conference of School and University Students: “Youth and the Future of Education – A Message from the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”

At East European University (EEU), the Faculty of Education Sciences organized the Third Annual Joint Conference of School Pupils and University Students, titled “Youth and the Future of Education – A Message from the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).” More than 100 participants took part in the event, including over 20 school pupils and students from various universities.

The conference aimed to promote active collaboration between school pupils and university students, support scientific cooperation, and create a space where young people could share experiences, discuss the key challenges facing modern education, and explore innovative solutions in the age of artificial intelligence. The event also sought to showcase ideas focused on improving the education system and to strengthen the professional development of the next generation of researchers.

The conference was opened by Assoc. Prof. Ketevan Aptarashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences. Participants and attendees were also welcomed by Prof. Vasil Kikutadze, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Zukhra Matsaberidze, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences.

    Socio-Emotional, Legal, and Environmental Dimensions of Education
    Moderators: Assoc. Prof. Zukhra Matsaberidze, Assist. Prof. Giorgi Tsiklauri

    Alongside university students, participants included pupils from Grades 8–12 of both public and private schools in Tbilisi (Schools No. 32, 180, 208, Komarovi School No. 199, No. 106, No. 118, Vekua School No. 42, “Getty,” “Tsisakari,” and others) as well as schools from various regions: Batumi, Tkibuli, Gori, Dusheti, Gardabani, Khobi, and Dedoplistskaro.

    Participants addressed a wide range of contemporary topics, including digital transformation, the role and ethical implications of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, emotional intelligence and mental health in the educational environment, ecological responsibility, inclusive education, and STEM fields.

    The conference was attended by experts in the field, schoolteachers, EEU students, academic staff, and other invited guests. The event followed a panel discussion format, allowing participants to exchange their ideas, viewpoints, research findings, and practical experiences.

    All participants received certificates of attendance.
