An educational and practical workshop “Living with Stroke” will take place on 25 December 2025 at 12:00 in the EEU Great conference hall, organized by the East European University (EEU) student club “Neurozeal” and the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences.
The aim of the event is to deepen clinical knowledge and practical skills related to stroke — from clinical presentation and emergency management to the processes of recovery and rehabilitation. Particular emphasis is placed on the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments that may develop after stroke and their impact on patients’ quality of life, independence, and social participation.
Workshop topics include:
- The use of brain imaging studies (CT/MRI) in stroke diagnosis and identification of different types of stroke;
- Discussion of empathy and patient-centred care in the context of life after stroke;
- Practical simulation of emergency response in acute stroke;
- ABC assessment and neurological examination using the NIH Stroke Scale;
- Teamwork and decision-making during the activation of the “Code Stroke” process.
