On January 26, 2021 Doctoral Research Development Center and Interdisciplinary Research Center organized an online-workshop: ,,COVID-19 and Higher Education: Interdisciplinary Perspectives’’.
The workshop aimed at interdisciplinary analyzes of higher education challenges (learning, teaching, research) resulted by global pandemic.
The workshop was moderated by Paul Gibbs, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy (EEU Professor, Emeritus Professor at the University of Middlesex, EEU Doctoral Research Development Center).
Under the online-workshop speakers discussed the impact of the pandemic on higher education and its overcoming mechanisms. Five representatives of various disciplines were participated in the workshop as speakers:
- Giorgi Tavadze (Professor, Doctor of Philosophy) – “Philosophical Perspectives on COVID-19 and the Impact of the Pandemic on Higher Education”;
- Kakha Lazarashvili (Associate Professor, Healthcare Management) – “COVID-19 and Higher Education: The Perspective of the School of Healthcare”;
- Tamta Lekishvili (Assistant Professor, Doctor of Business Administration) – “COVID-19 and Higher Education: The Perspective of the School of Business and Engineering”;
- Lasha Tsertsvadze (Associate Professor, Doctor of Law) – “COVID-19 and Higher Education: Perspectives of the School of Law and Social Sciences”;
- Paul Gibbs (Professor, Doctor of Philosophy) – “COVID-19 and Higher Education: An Interdisciplinary Approach”.
Online-workshop also was attended by East European University rector, university academic/invited personnel and students.
Q&A Conclusive discussion was held at the end of the workshop.
