On the initiative of the East European University and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the meeting was held on March 12 attended by the information medical-psychological center “Tanatdgoma” and representatives of seven public and private universities.
The meeting discussed the importance of the knowledge of health and personal safety for young people, integration these issues into the training programs for teachers, and prospects for future cooperation.
At the meeting, the rector of the East European University discussed about the importance of young people’s well-being generally and its impact on education. Also, the activities that the East European University has taken to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of students.
Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Rector of East European University:
“Health and Personal Safety Education” includes the essential information regarding how to develop healthy values for young people at any age. “Health and Personal Safety Education” plays the significant role for their physical, mental and social well-being, establishing a solid place in society.”
Within the framework of the meeting, a discussion was held regarding the future plans, which will be implemented in cooperation between the East European University and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
