On 5 December 2025, a workshop titled “Building Research Capacity: From Methodological Rigor to International Publication” was conducted at East European University (EEU) at the initiative of the Faculty of Education Sciences.
The event aimed to enhance doctoral students’ research skills and familiarize them with international academic standards.
The workshop was led by Louise Dalingwater, Professor at EEU, Head of the English-language Doctoral Program in Education Sciences, and Professor at Sorbonne University.
The speaker introduced participants to the importance of methodological precision, qualitative research design, data analysis, and standards for international publications in contemporary research practice.
Louise Dalingwater placed particular emphasis on the following key areas:
- Formulating research questions and the role of conceptual frameworks
- Current trends in qualitative and quantitative approaches
- Sampling strategies and data triangulation
- Ethical standards, data credibility, and transparent research processes
- Recommendations for preparing high-quality international publications
During the workshop, David Sikharulidze, Head of the Department of Scientific Research and Development and Co-supervisor of the Doctoral Program, addressed the audience and discussed the significance of quantitative research in the dissertation-writing process.
The workshop was attended by Ketevan Aptarashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences, EEU doctoral students, and the academic staff involved in the university’s doctoral programs.
Participants received practical guidance on planning research, conducting studies, and presenting results effectively.
