VACANCY REQUIREMENTS
A person selected as a Professor for a 5 (five-year) term at the university shall meet the following qualification requirements:

Basic (legal) requirements:

  1. a) Academic/scientific degree: academic degree of Doctor or equivalent;
  2. b) Scientific-pedagogical work: at least 6 years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work in an authorized or equivalent higher education institution.

 

Additional (university) requirements:

  1. a) Syllabus/ syllabi:
    Evaluated based on the adequacy of their content, learning outcomes and achievement methods;
  2. b) Scientific papers published in the last 10 years:
    Evaluated based on their relevance to the respective field.
  3. c) Scientific scholarships and grants during the last 5 years:
    Evaluated based on their relevance to the respective field.
  4. d) Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last 5 years: Evaluated based on their relevance to the competition position.

A person selected as an Associate professor for a 5 (five-year) term at the university, or for 7 (seven) years in the healthcare field, shall meet the following qualification requirements:

Basic (legal) requirements:

  1. a) Academic/scientific degree: academic degree of Doctor or equivalent;
  2. b) Scientific-pedagogical work: at least 3 years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work in an authorized or equivalent higher education institution;
  3. c) Medical activity: At least 5 years of experience in medical practice (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare).

Additional (university) requirements:

  1. a) Syllabus/ syllabi:
    Evaluated based on the adequacy of their content, learning outcomes, and achievement methods.
  2. b) Scientific papers published during the last 10 years:
    Evaluated based on their relevance to the respective field.
  3. c) Scientific scholarships and grants during the last 5 years;

Evaluated based on their relevance to the respective field.

  1. d) Participation in scientific conferences and professional development events during the last 5 years: Evaluated based on their relevance to the competition position.
  2. e) Experience of teaching English/ Proof of English language competence (only for candidates applying for positions in the field of Healthcare).

A person selected as an Assistant Professor for a 4 (four-year) term at the university shall meet the following qualification requirements:

Basic (legal) requirements:

  1. a) Academic degree of Doctor or equivalent;
  2. b) Medical activity: At least 3 years of experience in medical practice (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare).

Additional (university) requirements:

  1. a) Syllabus/ syllabi:
    Evaluated based on the adequacy of their content, learning outcomes and achievement methods.
  2. b) Experience of teaching English/ Proof of English language competence (only for candidates applying for positions in the field of Healthcare).

Note: A qualified professional may hold an academic position. The person’s qualification may be confirmed by professional experience, special training and / or publications. A person who has the necessary competence to develop the learning outcomes provided by the program is considered to have the relevant qualification.

Documents required for participation in the competition:
Those applying for the position of Professor / Associate Professor must submit the following documents to the Commission:

  1. Completed application form addressed to the Competition Commission (see the template);
  2. Autobiography (CV) (electronic and printed versions; n case of sending by e-mail only in electronic form);
  3. Completed applicant form with electronic version (CD) (only electronic version in case of sending by e-mail) (see the template);
  4. Copy of ID card;
  5. One photo, size 3×4 (in case of sending by e-mail only electronic form);
  6. Copy of relevant academic (scientific) degree document(s) (if foreign diplomas, recognition document for foreign education);
  7. Document proving scientific-pedagogical work in an authorized or equal higher education institution;
  8. Records issued by LEPL “Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia”;
    a) on a conviction for a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability;
  9. b) on deprivation of rights
  10. Information on scientific papers adequate for the competitive position / field (in the author’s point of view), published during the last 10 years, including the scientific paper that best reflects his / her scientific activity;
  11. The syllabus(es) of the relevant course(s) developed by the applicant (in electronic and printed form; in case of sending by e-mail only in electronic form);
  12. Information confirming scientific scholarships and grants during the last 5 years;
  13. Information confirming participation in scientific conferences and professional development during the last 5 years;
  14. Proof of English language proficiency and / or English language teaching experience (only for candidates applying for positions in the field of Healthcare);a) At least 3 years of experience in teaching in an English-language program;

or

  1. b) At least 1 year of experience performing clinical work in English at a foreign clinic;

or

  1. c) At least 1 year of teaching/research activity in English at a foreign research institution in the field of biomedicine;

or

  1. d) Completion of an English-language pre-degree or post-degree program, confirmed by the relevant document;

or

  1. e) An internationally recognized certificate confirming at least a B2 level of proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert, EnglishScore, etc.).
  2. Copy of the state certificate on the right to practice medicine (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare);
  3. Document proving the medical activity during the last 5 years in case of applying for the vacant position of Associate professor (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare).

 

Those applying for the position of Assistant Professor must submit the following documents to the Commission:

  1. Completed application form addressed to the competition commission (see the template);

  1. Copy of the state certificate on the right to practice medicine (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare)
  2. Document proving the medical activity during the last 3 years in case of applying for the vacant position of Assistant-professor (only for applicants of clinical specialization in the field of healthcare).
  3. Proof of English language proficiency and / or English language teaching experience (only for candidates applying for positions in the field of Healthcare).
  4. a) At least 3 years of experience in teaching in an English-language program;
    or
    b) At least 1 year of clinical practice in a foreign clinic conducted in English;
    or
    c) At least 1 year of educational/research activities in the field of biomedicine conducted in English at a foreign research institution;
    or
    d) Completion of an English-language pre-degree or post-degree program, confirmed by the corresponding document;
    or
    e) An internationally recognized certificate confirming proficiency in English at least at the B2 level (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert, EnglishScore, etc.).

 

Note: records on a conviction for a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and on deprivation of rights are issued free of charge by the LEPL Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia within 5 working days after the request is made and are valid for 15 calendar days after its preparation.

Please note that by submitting documents containing personal data to us within the scope of the vacancy, you grant the East European University the authority to process the documents containing your personal data as provided, as well as for other similar vacancies in the future. These documents will be stored in accordance with the interests of the university’s activities, the current legislation of Georgia, and the university’s internal regulations, for no longer than 3 years.

The submission of documents and registration of participants in the competition will take place from February 14, 2025 to February 19, 2025

Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants.

The competition is held in three stages (review of the applicants’ documentation by the competition commission, initial evaluation; interview with the selected applicants; conciliation, decision making) from February 20, 2025 to February 27, 2025.

The decision of the competition commission will be published no later than February 28, 2025.
