Georgian Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announces admissions to the Doctoral Degrees program bi-nationally supervised by local (Georgian) and German scholars.
This program offers you the opportunity to do bi-national doctoral degrees at your home university (Georgia) and a university in Germany:
The doctoral project is supervised by a university teacher at your home university (Georgia) and the host institute in Germany (the so-called “sandwich model”). The doctorate project must be agreed upon with both supervisors according to the following procedure:
- You start your doctoral degree in your home country;
- This is followed by research trips to Germany;
- You complete your doctorate in your home country and are also supervised by the German academic adviser;
- Your home university awards the doctoral degree.
Application:
The application procedure requires a Master’s degree or diploma (or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree) at the latest at the start of the funding period.
Funding is provided for between 7 and a maximum of 24 months.
Monthly payments for doctoral candidates during their stay in Germany: 1,200 euros.
The selection criteria are:
- Qualification;
- Quality of research project;
- Potential of the applicant/career perspective.
