Scientific Research and Development Department of East European University on June 9, 2022, organized a student scientific conference: Innovative Scientific Project – turn an Idea into a Reality!
The goal of the conference was to create motivation for the students of East European University to research and implementation of innovative ideas and to promote the purposeful use of their intellectual potential.
The event was opened by Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, acting Rector of East European University. Conference participants were also welcomed by East European University Vice-rector in science affairs Prof. Shalva Machavariani and Head of the Scientific Research and Development Department Dr. David Sikharulidze.
A keynote speech was made by the winner of the student scientific-research internal university grant competition 2021 Baskar Rekha (The Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, student of one-cycle Medical Doctor’s (MD) educational program), who introduced the results of the implemented research project (The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the cognitive functions of the international Medical Students) to the present audience.
At the conference, reports were presented by students of undergraduate and graduate educational programs of East European University;
Three winning projects were identified by the scientific commission from the submitted scientific-research project proposals:
- Tamar Tkhelidze (Master program of Education Studies and Administration)
Project Title: The impact of the scientific supervisor on the quality of the Ph.D. dissertation
- Sopo Baidauri (Bachelor program of Architecture)
Project Title: Discovery and research of unknown monuments of Georgia
- Hussam Ud Din Shariff (The Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, student of one-cycle Medical Doctor’s (MD) educational program)
Project Title: Impact of smoking on general health and behavior among students in Georgia
In addition, the authors of the winning projects moved to the final stage of the 2022 EEU student scientific grant competition and have the opportunity to receive a university research grant (maximum 5000 GEL);
At the end of the event, students were awarded certificates for successful participation in the conference.
