
About Training-course
The cycle of training: ” Teaching and Assessment in Medical Education”, is organized by the EEU Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) on the initiative of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences of East European University (EEU).
The training aims to enhance the qualifications of academic and invited staff of the Medical Doctor’s (English) one-cycle educational programme of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences in the field of teaching and assessment in medical education.
Topics:
- Introduction to assessment in medical education, knowledge assessment, formulating and creating Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) or open-ended questions;
- Performance assessment, Objectively Structured Practical Examination (OSPE), Objectively Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), Organizing and piloting;
- Problem Based Learning (PBL), creating scenarions and organizing groups for PBL, condacting PBL sessions and evaluation;
- Workplace-Based Assessment (WPBA); Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX); Mini-CEX demonstration & discussion; Direct Observation for Procedural Skills (DOPS); DOPS demonstration & discussion.
Speaker: AYHAN S. CALISKAN, MD, PhD, Associate Professor at United Arab Emirates University, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Medical Education.
Professor Ayhan S. Caliskan has many years of experience in administrating, monitoring, teaching and learning in medical education. He is a member and examiner of several Turkish and European Board Certification Examinations.
