Students’ International Scientific Conference

East European University Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies (CMDS) is pleased to invite you to participate in Students’ International Scientific Conference on “War and Migration”, which will take place at the East European University on November 18^th 2022.

Aim of the Conference: to promote general discussion on management of forced migration caused by war; to support sharing of students’ views and knowledge of impact of the war on the economy and politics and role of States in this process.

Target audience of the conference: Conference is open for bachelor, Master and PhD students of any University.

Topics of the conference:

It may include but are not limited to the following:

Results of migration due to war;
War perception and migration;
War and political migration;
Management of war refugee migration flows;
War, women and migration;
War in Ukraine and migration;
War and responsibility of European countries before the migrants;
War and diaspora;
War and cultural identity of migrants;
War and migrants’ rights.

Working languages: Georgian and English.

Presentation length: 15min, Q&A – 5 min.

- Participants must register to the following link;
- submit abstract in Georgian or English languages (A4 format, no more than 300 words);
Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. If abstract is accepted, author should submit full text paper and PPP presentation (max 8-10 slides), including tables, figures and references. Papers should be previously unpublished.

Requirements for abstract and scientific paper you can find on Appendix 1.

IMPORTANT DATES:

- Deadline for registration and abstract submission is – August 30^th , 2022. 6:00 pm (Tbilisi local time)
- Deadline for the notification on the acceptance is, no later than September 15^th 2022;
- The deadline for submission the final paper and PPP presentation is October 18^th, 2022, 6:00 pm (Tbilisi local time)

All required documents must be written in Georgian or English Languages and sent to cmds@eeu.edu.ge with the subject line ( title of the conference).

Scientific commission members will evaluate the submitted papers according to the following criteria: relevance to the conference topics; identification of problem; reasoning; deep- analysis, conformity of conclusions with results, aims and tasks; research ethics, accuracy; presentability.

The commission will select six best papers. All participants will receive certificates. Conference papers will be published in the journal of the Center of Migration and Diaspora Studies and will be available for all interested persons.
