General director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia
Mr. Giorgi Kekelidze is the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. He has extensive experience in teaching and academic activities for many years, and is a poet, prose writer, screenwriter, essayist and TV presenter (“Morning of Books”). He is the founder of the Book Museum, the founder of the educational movement Equilibrium, the winner of the Saba Prize and the Tsinandali Prize, the founder and editor-in-chief of the electronic library lib.ge. He founded the Literary Prize for Children’s Books. Since 2010, he has been the editor of the literature section of the information-analytical magazine “Tabula-Art”.
Mr. Giorgi Kekelidze is the author of many famous works and translations, including “Gurian Diaries”, “Thomas Tales”, “Odebi”, etc. He is the winner of the Hubert Bals Foundation (Netherlands) literary competition, the holder of more than ten awards and literary prizes, both in Georgia and abroad, and is an honorary freeman of Ozurgeti, hometown.
