On November 18th, 2021 East European University Research Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies and Department of Scientific Research and Development with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Issues organized the online student scientific conference “Migration and Diaspora – global challenges”
The opening speech was made by Dr. Shalava Matchavariani, Vice –Rector for Scientific Affairs of the East European University.
The participants of the conference were welcomed by Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Acting Rector of the East European University, Vladimer Konstantinidi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, Dr. Pierre-Alexandre Crevaux, Representative of the President of Georgia on Diaspora Issues, Dr. Irma Tsereteli, Coordinator for Program Migration and Diaspora in Georgia CIM/GIZ. The conference was moderated by Lela Goginava, Head of the Migration and Diaspora Research Center, East European University. The undergraduate and PhD Students from the East European University, Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Caucasus International University, Vienna State University and the Free University of Berlin presented papers at the conference.
At the end the scientific commission of the conference evaluated and rewarded three best papers and authors. The winners of the Conference will be rewarded by special prizes (Cash reward in the amount of 500, 300 and 200 GEL); other participants will receive certificates.
