Students’ International Scientific Conference: “Education and Migration”

East European University Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies (CMDS) is pleased to invite you to participate in Students’ International Scientific Conference on “Education and Migration”, which will take place at the East European University on November 15^th 2023.

Aim of the Conference: To foster comprehensive discussions and enhance understanding of the interconnection between education and migration; to share knowledge and innovative approaches by exploring existing challenges, opportunities and good practices.

Target audience of the conference: Conference is open for bachelor, Master and PhD students of any University.

Topics of the conference: it may include but are not limited to the following:

The impact of migration on education;
Education and migration policies;
Education and socio-economic stability of female migrants;
Educational migration;
Inclusive education systems and migration;
Education, war and migration;
Qualifications of teachers and education of migrant students;
Integration and education of migrants;
Innovative educational technologies and education of migrant students;
Educational policies and legal frameworks for the education of migrants;

Working languages: Georgian and English.

Presentation length: 15min, Q&A – 5 min.

Format of the conference: Hybrid.

Submit abstract in Georgian or English languages (A4 format, no more than 300 words);

Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. If abstract is accepted, author should submit full text paper and PPP presentation (max 8-10 slides), including tables, figures and references. Papers should be previously unpublished.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Deadline for registration[1] and abstract submission is – September 18^th , 2022. 18pm (Tbilisi local time)
Deadline for the notification on the acceptance is, no later than September, 30^th 2022;
The deadline for submission the final paper and PPP presentation is October 30^th, 2022, 18pm (Tbilisi local time)

All required documents must be written in Georgian or English Languages and sent to cmds@eeu.edu.ge with the subject line ( title of the conference).

Additional Information:

Scientific commission members will evaluate the submitted papers according to the following criteria: relevance to the conference topics; identification of problem; reasoning; deep- analysis, conformity of conclusions with results, aims and tasks; research ethics, accuracy; presentability.

The commission will select six best papers. All participants will receive certificates. Conference papers will be published in the journal of the Center of Migration and Diaspora Studies and will be available for all interested persons.
