East European University Showcases Georgia at EAIE 2023 in Rotterdam

East European University participated in the annual exhibition and conference of the European Association of International Education (EAIE 2023), held from September 26 to 29 in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, Nederland. This marked the first time that Georgian universities independently and proactively united to present their country’s educational prowess on a global scale.

EAIE 2023, known as the foremost educational event in Europe, attracted universities from all corners of the world. East European University took the initiative to organize the Georgian contingent, which brought together 11 prominent universities from the nation. This unprecedented representation showcased Georgia’s commitment to internationalizing its educational institutions and fostering global partnerships.

Tea Imadedze, Vice-Rector for International and Administrative Affairs of East European University, and Elene Zurabishvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, represented the university at the event. They eloquently introduced the university’s wide array of educational programs, highlighting its unique advantages and offerings to attendees.

The East European University delegation engaged in productive meetings with representatives from various European universities. These interactions yielded promising results, as opportunities for expanding the university’s partnership network and forging new collaborations emerged. Notably, the possibility of institutional partnership and cooperation agreements under the ERASMUS+ program were drawn up with universities in Spain, Poland, Nederland, and Portugal.

During her stay in Nederland, Vice-Rector Tea Imadedze seized the opportunity to meet with Mr. David Solomonia, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. At this meeting, Ms Imadedze provided a comprehensive overview of the exhibition and the significant representation of Georgia. Discussions revolved around the potential for collaboration with Dutch universities and the avenues for further development in cooperation.

Participation in EAIE 2023 is a precursor to the development of the internationalization of East European University and the creation of new opportunities for its students and staff. This not only placed Georgia prominently on the international education stage but also opened doors to a multitude of possibilities for enhanced global cooperation in the realm of higher education. This initiative underscores the commitment of Georgian universities to embracing a broader global perspective.
