Sports Injury Assessment and Management

Through the collaboration of East European University (EEU) student clubs Neurozeal and the Sports and Cultural Society, and organized by the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, an educational and engaging academic competition titled Sports Injury Assessment and Management will be held on January 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the EEU Great conference hall.

The aim of the event is to strengthen students’ clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and teamwork with a focus on the neuro-musculoskeletal systems. Special attention is given to sports-related injuries, particularly injuries to the brain and the musculoskeletal system, which are common among athletes. Early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and timely management of these injuries are crucial in preventing long-term complications.

Event topics:

  • Student-led Presentation – A focused discussion on sports-related head injuries, including the recognition of concussion, on-field injury management, and return-to-play protocols;
  • Multi-round Quiz Challenge – Timed competitive quiz rounds covering basic sciences, pathophysiology, and clinical and diagnostic sciences related to neuro-musculoskeletal medicine;
  • Integrated Visual Exercise – Hands-on identification of anatomical structures, rapid image-based diagnosis (CT, MRI, X-rays), and recognition of clinical signs.

Date and Time: January 23, 12:00 PM

Target Audience: The event is intended for MD  program students as well as all interested participants.

Format and Venue: Face-to-face, East European University, Room 401
