At East European University (EEU), a ceremony was held awarding Professor Paul Gibbs the academic title of Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Education Sciences.
The ceremony was preceded by Professor Gibbs’s inaugural lecture, as well as the presentation of a joint international scientific journal published under his leadership by Eastern European University and Sorbonne University (France).
The journal was presented by Professor Paul Gibbs together with the journal’s editor, Professor Louise Dellingwater, Head of a research center at Sorbonne University. In addition, EEU doctoral students delivered presentations of their published articles.
Through the initiative of Paul Gibbs, the Center for Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development was established at Eastern European University. Furthermore, in collaboration with Middlesex University (UK), a joint doctoral program in Education was launched at the Faculty of Education. Under his leadership, numerous international scientific conferences have been organized, research projects have been implemented, and international publications have been produced. He continues to serve as a member of the editorial board of EEU’s scientific journal “Collection of Scientific Works,” and under his guidance, EEU students successfully publish articles in international academic journals.
Professor Paul Gibbs was congratulated on being awarded the title of Professor Emeritus by the Rector of Eastern European University, Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili, and the Chair of the Academic Council, David Cherkezishvili, who also presented him with commemorative gifts. The event was attended by invited guests, doctoral students, researchers, students, academic staff, and representatives of the university administration.
Paul Gibbs is a distinguished British scholar and researcher, the founder of the Centre for Education Research and Scholarship at Middlesex University (UK). He is also a visiting professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of Cambridge (UK), a research fellow at the ATLAS R&B Research Institute (Texas, USA), and affiliated with the Higher Education Policy Center at New College, Oxford. He is the author of more than twenty books, has published over 110 international academic papers, and serves as an editor of the SpringerBriefs series.
