In 2023, on November 15th, Eastern European University hosted an international student scientific conference on the theme of “Education and Migration.”
The conference aimed to share :
- Research findings on the links between education and migration;
- Exchange best practices;
- Discuss existing challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, the Rector of Eastern European University, and Ms. Lela Goginava, the Director of the Migration and Diaspora Research Centre, delivered welcoming speeches at the conference.
In the first part of the conference, Dr. INTA Mijerina, the Director of the Migration and Diaspora Research Centre at the University of Latvia, and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the same university, was invited as keynote speaker. She presented a paper on “Building Bridges with Diaspora in Education and Science: The Case of Latvia.”
Masahiro Kato, Early Childhood Education Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Science and Education of Georgia, was invited as the second keynote speaker. He presented a paper on “International Framework and Commitment to Inclusive, Equitable, and Quality Education for Refugee and Internally Displaced Children.”
The second part of the conference was dedicated to the presentations and discussions of works by students from various universities in Georgia.
