The EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) was launched in 2008 at the initiative of the European University Association and has been leading in defining policy and strengthening of doctoral education in Europe. EUA-CDE has played a key role in developing the concept framework for the development of doctoral education in the European educational area and is now the largest European network in this field, covering more than 260 universities and institutions in 36 countries.
EUA-CDE provides member universities with the opportunities to share best practices, organize and perform joint projects, events and other activities in the field of doctoral education and research; regularly get information about new trends in doctoral education in Europe and around the world; participate in thematic conferences and workshops planned by the Council, and exercise representative voting power at meetings of the Council on doctoral education issues.
The EUA-CDE membership provides the East European University with invaluable opportunities to support the internationalization and development of doctoral education and research.
