East European University’s Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Engineering, Assistant Professor Tamta Lekishvili, and Christine Kardava, a specialist from the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, recently embarked on a fruitful visit to the University of Nicosia in Cyprus. The trip, which took place from June 12 to 16, was made possible through the Erasmus+ program staff mobility. The purpose of their visit was to participate in the 5th Erasmus+ International Staff Week, which focused on the theme of “International Credit Mobility: Moving Beyond Traditional Erasmus+”.
The University of Nicosia hosted universities’ representatives from 15 different countries. Lekishvili and Kardava proudly presented the East European University and its accomplishments, delivering a comprehensive presentation that highlighted the Georgian education system, the university’s strategic plans and visions, educational programs, and ongoing and prospective projects.
Moreover, the East European University representatives held targeted meetings with key personnel from the University of Nicosia, including administrators and faculty members. These discussions centered around forging future collaborations encompassing teaching partnerships, staff and student exchanges, joint programs, and research projects.
The participants of the staff week relished the opportunity to share best practices, examples, and experiences from their respective universities. In addition to the enriching professional exchange, attendees also had the chance to delve into the cultural wonders of each participating country.
The visit EEU delegation strengthened ties between the East European University and the University of Nicosia. This cooperation and definite plans provides additional opportunities for the EEU students and academic staff.
