The Ray & Bob (R&B) International Transdisciplinary (TD) Research Institute is dedicated to the development and promotion of innovative applications of transdisciplinary (TD) research and education applied to complex problems currently faced by the state, nation, and entire world. R&B is a new research and development infrastructure within the Academy of Transdisciplinary Learning & Advanced Studies (ATLAS).
Founded in 2000, the ATLAS is a non-profit organization providing services to students around the world. The ATLAS provides the following critical services:
- Transdisciplinary education and research,
- Support social, environmental, economical and ethical sustainable development throughout the world, and
- To promote global information exchange through innovative publishing
Social ecological systems currently face complex challenges such as, the degradation of ecosystems, over exploitation of natural resources, climate change, wealth inequalities, and human conflicts. These interconnected challenges are threatening the sustainable development of society and cannot be adequately tackled from the content of specific individual disciplines. This complexity and diversity in the world requires insight, knowledge, skills, and approaches from many field that cross the boundaries of disciplines and institutions, cultures and realities of society. Transdisciplinarity is a growing field of education and research that holds great potential to make an important contribution to a sustainable development.
Transdisciplinarity is a method of acquiring new knowledge through rethinking current methods and processes, rearranging our fundamental science and engineering knowledge to create innovative technological products and services to confront society’s complex issues. The practical focus of transdisciplinarity is a collaborative process to improve our understanding of complex issues by using collective intelligence through collective experts and multiple resources for designing and implementing solutions to challenging problems by considering the public good.
R&B Innovation Expo: SCORE International Conference
Starting 2020, traditional ATLAS conferences will be organized by R&B TD Research institute. That is R&B Innovation Expo: SCORE International Virtual Conference which will be held on May 16-20, 2022. The conference aims to identify top student talent from universities around the world and inspire them to become innovators and young entrepreneurs.
Students Collaboration Objective for Research Enhancement (SCORE) through international partnerships, is a virtual student information exchange platform for collaborative online international learning. Through SCORE, students connect with peers in other countries to discuss global complex issues. The platform allows students to form teams to address these global problems. Students will also be exposed to a wide-ranging pool of subject matter experts for which they can call upon as mentors to help them think broadly about solutions to the problems at hand. Encouraging students to utilize global research collaboration will build cultural understanding and communication skills while enhancing new knowledge generation. Thus opening possibilities to their exploration of the widening boundaries of international transdisciplinarity collaboration and universal knowledge sharing to the benefit of all peoples; giving people the ability to provide better solutions to global problems now facing the world.
The ATLAS R&B Institute Innovation Expo (IE) aims to host senior and graduate-level college students from around the world; offering students an opportunity to showcase their projects in the format of a technical conference. The IE expects to create a unique environment by providing students a conference-like platform to showcase their abilities to possible recruiting companies through the technical presentation of their innovative projects. The main goal of the Innovation Expo International Conference is to create a platform for students to showcase their abilities to employers while providing companies access to top upcoming student talent from universities across the world. All the abstracts of the projects will be listed under the expo program and the program will be distributed to attending companies.
Young Innovators Challenge Call is Eligible for Projects:
