Dr. Levan Makhashvili is a Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Chairman of Parliament of Georgia, a member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at East European University, and the Head of the Undergraduate Program in International Relations. He has been engaged in pedagogical and professional activities for years. In different years he was a Councilor at the US Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, as well as the Advisor at Senior Witness and Victim Coordinator of Analytical Unit of the Main Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
Dr. Levan Makhashvili is actively engaged in scientific-research activities. He has published about 15 scientific papers in local and international journals. Is a speaker at numerous local and international scientific conferences. He has received scholarships from the EU Delegation, more than 10 grants and awards, including: Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, John Smith Foundation of the United Kingdom, European Union, US Department of State, Maastricht University, Vienna Diplomatic Academy. He has received the “Silver Shield” award for his outstanding contribution to Georgia’s integration into the European Union and NATO.
