On November 18, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Irakli Chkhaidze (Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University) delivered Varlam Cherkezishvili annual lecture. The title of the lecture was “Two-faced Janus: nation-building and the notion of the West in postcolonial Georgia”. During his lecture, Prof. Chkhaidze analysed the process of controversial reception of the West in Georgia and linked it with the notion of populism. The lecture was followed by a discussion.
