On October 13-14, the East European University hosted participants of the European Association for Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) project ‘Women on the Move.’ The Georgian representation in the project includes Lela Goginava, Director of the Migration and Diaspora Research Centre at the East European University, and Dr. Tatiana Sichinava, a researcher at the same Centre.
On October 13, Lela Goginava, the Director of the Centre, delivered a keynote presentation on ‘Women from Georgian political emigration and their activities in exile.’ On October 14, Mary (Meko) Chachava, a representative of the Embassy of Japan in Georgia and a researcher in development issues, was invited as a keynote speaker. She presented a paper on ‘Socio-economic stability for Georgian labor migrants women.’
The meeting was attended by researchers from universities and research centers in France, Finland, Turkey, Ukraine, Iceland, Macedonia, Poland, Bulgaria, Canada, and Ireland.
