International Conference: “Education – A Catalyst for Well-Being” (Day 1 – Opening Ceremony)

International scientific conference, “Education – A Catalyst for Well-Being,” is being held at East European University (EEU) in cooperation with the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).

The conference aims to examine education as a driving force of individual and societal well-being, highlight the essential role of universities in this domain, identify well-being–related challenges, and explore ways to address them.

The event covers a wide range of thematic areas including education, social sciences, economics, law, digital transformation, the mission and purpose of the university, quality in education, and public health.

More than 80 researchers from leading universities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Georgia, and several other countries are participating in the conference. The event is officially supported by prominent international educational organizations, such as the European University Association (EUA) and the United Kingdom’s Advance HE. Members of the Academic Committee include distinguished scholars and experienced researchers from Georgia and abroad.

The conference was opened by Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Rector of East European University. During the opening ceremony, welcome remarks were delivered by Aleksandre Tsuladze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; Lasha Margishvili, Acting Director of NCEQE; Professor Josep Garrell, President of EUA; and David David Townhill , International Director of Advance HE. Greetings were also extended by Givi Mikanadze, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs; members of Parliament; the chairs and international members of the Academic and Organizing Committees; representatives of international universities; and conference participants.

The international scientific conference brings together more than 80 local and international researchers and is held over the course of three days. The conference proceedings will be published in print, and selected papers will appear in a high-ranking international journal (SpringerBriefs).

The event is hosted at East European University’s new campus as part of European Higher Education Week (EHEW 2025) and is attended by researchers and invited guests from Georgian and international universities and scientific institutions.
