During the visit, the delegation held meetings with the Rector of East European University, Professor David Cherkezishvili, and members of the University administration. At the meeting EEU was represented by Associate Professor Rusudan Chikovani, Vice-Rector for Academic Administration; Associate Professor Ketevan Aptarashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences; Assistant Professor Tea Imedadze, Rector’s Advisor for International and Administrative Affairs; Assistant Professor Teona Khachidze, Head of the International Relations Department; and International Relations Coordinators Tamar Tabatadze and Mariam Bazadze.
The delegation was introduced to the Georgian higher education system and received a comprehensive overview of East European University, including its academic profile, institutional development, and internationalisation initiatives. During the meeting, both institutions reaffirmed the value of their productive partnership and discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation through future joint academic and international projects.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the University’s facilities, including its academic and administrative spaces, Research Centre, Library, and sports and recreational facilities. At the conclusion of the visit, the participants were awarded certificates recognizing their participation in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme.
The Memorandum of Understanding between East European University and Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences was signed in 2023. Since then, cooperation between the two institutions has continued to develop successfully. Under the terms of the agreement, students as well as academic and administrative staff of East European University are offered the opportunity each semester to participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme, thereby fostering international academic collaboration and professional development.
