Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Education – EEU Hosts the 4th Joint Conference of School and University Students

The Faculty of Education Sciences and the Center Lifelong Learning and Students Services of East European University (EEU) organized the 4th Joint Conference of School and University Students entitled “A New Generation for the Digital World – Education, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity.” More than 80 participants took part in the conference, including over 20 school students and EEU students.

The conference aimed to strengthen collaboration between school pupils and university students, encourage research interests, and discuss contemporary educational challenges in the era of artificial intelligence. The event also served as a platform for presenting ideas aimed at improving the education system and supporting the professional development of future researchers.

The conference was opened by the Rector of East European University, David Cherkezishvili. Participants and attendees were also welcomed by Vice-Rector Rusudan Chikovani and the Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences, Associate Professor Ketevan Aptarashvili.

The conference was conducted through two parallel sessions:

  • Session I – Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Digital Education (Moderators: Associate Professor Ketevan Aptarashvili, Associate Professor Sergo Durglishvili, and Assistant Professor Natia Gegelashvili);
  • Session II – Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Education, Science, and Technology (Moderators: Assistant Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare, Elene Zurabishvili, Assistant Professor Giorgi Tatanashvili and Assistant Professor Ekaterine Beniashvili).

In addition to university students, pupils from grades VIII–XII of both public and private schools participated in the conference. Participants represented schools from Tbilisi, including Tbilisi First Classical Gymnasium, Public Schools No. 126, No. 32, No. 208, Komarov School No. 199, Public Schools No. 30 and No. 118, as well as private schools „Millennium“, „Albion“, „Skhivi“ and „Candidi”. Pupils from regional schools, including Dusheti, Gardabani, and Zestaponi, also took part in the event.

During the conference, participants delivered 33 presentations covering a wide range of topics, including the application of artificial intelligence in education and clinical practice, cybersecurity, cyberbullying prevention, personal data protection, digital transformation, inclusive education, teacher well-being, student mobility, the relationship between architecture and technology, youth digital culture, and contemporary educational challenges.

The conference was attended by field experts, school teachers, EEU students, academic staff, and other invited guests. The event was conducted in a panel discussion format, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas, research findings, opinions, and practical experiences.

All participants were awarded certificates of participation.
