An educational and engaging academic competition titled Sports Injury Assessment and Management was held on 23 January 2026, through the collaboration of the East European University (EEU) student clubs “Neurozeal” and the “Sports and Culture Society,” and with the organization of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The aim of the event was to strengthen students’ clinical reasoning, diagnostic abilities, and teamwork skills related to the neuro-musculoskeletal systems. Particular emphasis was placed on sports-related injuries, especially those involving the brain and the musculoskeletal system, which are common among athletes. Special attention was also given to the early recognition of these injuries, accurate diagnosis, and timely management, which are crucial for the prevention of long-term complications.
Students actively participated in an interactive, multi-round quiz challenge covering neuro-musculoskeletal topics, pathophysiology, and clinical-diagnostic sciences. Within the framework of the event, participants also engaged in an integrated visual exercise, which involved the practical identification of anatomical structures, rapid image-based diagnostics (CT, MRI, radiography), and the recognition of key clinical signs.
The session was accompanied by an exhibition of hand-drawn artworks created by students, depicting sports-related injuries.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates were awarded to the presenters participating in the competition.
