On July 27 of this year, the public dissertation defense was held at the Faculty of Education Sciences of East European University (EEU).
Tariel Elashvili, a doctoral candidate of the English-language PhD Program in Education Sciences, successfully defended her dissertation entitled: “Assessing the Effectiveness of Interactive Simulation-Based Learning vs. Traditional Methods on Postgraduate Students’ Learning Outcomes from Directive to Student-centred Teaching Roles”
The doctoral candidate’s academic supervisor was Emeritus Professor Paul Gibbs.
The defense procedure included a presentation of the research findings by the doctoral candidate, followed by an academic discussion. The committee positively evaluated both the research outcomes and the practical significance of the findings. The dissertation was also positively reviewed by two international reviewers.
The public defense was attended by EEU administrative and academic staff, master’s and doctoral students of the Faculty of Education Sciences, as well as other interested guests.
