Parliament of Georgia hosted the student conference dedicated to UN day and 25th anniversary of UN membership of Georgia. East European University bachelor student of International Relations Vakhtang Zhghenti participated in the conference.
Conference participants and invited guests welcomed the initiator of the student conference, Chairman of the committee, Sophie Katsarava, Chairman of the Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, Education, Science and Culture Committee Chairwoman Mariam Jashi, UN Resident Coordinator and UN Development (UNDP) resident representative in Georgia, Niels Scott and Deputy Foreign Minister, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.
The students delivered the presentations on: “UN Role in Peace-keeping in Georgia: Geneva Talks”; “Combating Terrorism Challenges for UN in Near East and its impact on Georgia”; “UN and Georgia”; “Georgia and Climate Change Paris Treaty”; “Security Committee Resolution N 2250”; “UN as a Trigger of Gender Equality Policy in Georgia”.
Presentation “Georgia and Climate Change Paris Treaty” of East European University bachelor student of International Relations Vakhtang Zhghenti got special interest and discussion of attendees.
Vakhtang Zhghenti underlined that conference gave him practical knowledge and opportunity to meet experts, parliament members and to see the views of other university students as well. Conference boosted to deepen further cooperation.
Chairman of International Relations Committee thanked all the participants for actively engagement in the conference and handed out relevant certificates.
