On December 21, 2024, East European University hosted the student workshop Neurodialogues: Cases & Skill Enhancement, which aimed to discuss neurological cases and strengthen practical skills.
The event was opened by Elene Zurabishvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences at East European University. The audience was also addressed by the keynote speakers: Prof. David Shalamberidze (Neurosurgeon, Professor at East European University) and Dr. Nika Zirakashvili (Emergency Medicine Specialist, Chapidze Heart Center).
Section I of the workshop featured clinical case presentations, where students presented cases on Middle Cerebral Artery Syndrome, a Neurological Mystery, the dual burden of epilepsy and bipolar symptoms following a head injury, the neurological puzzle “When Time is Brain”, and more.
During Section II, under the guidance of Prof. David Shalamberidze, students performed a practical lumbar puncture procedure and cerebrospinal fluid collection on a simulator, while Section III was led by Dr. Nika Zirakashvili, who conducted hands-on training on the management of neurological emergencies.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants.
The aim of the workshop was to deepen students’ professional skills, enhance clinical reasoning, and foster greater interest in neurological practice.
