An international-standard Clinical Skills Centre has been officially opened at East European University’s – Open Heart University Hospital. The Centre serves as a modern hub that integrates simulation-based and clinical education, assessment, and research activities within a single academic environment.
The Centre brings together simulation classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations, conference facilities, and dedicated debriefing areas under one integrated system. This comprehensive infrastructure provides students with an optimal environment for the progressive development and assessment of clinical competencies.
The Centre’s educational model is founded on the close integration of simulation-based learning, clinical practice, assessment, and research within a real clinical environment. This approach enables students to progressively transform their theoretical knowledge into practical professional competencies in a safe, controlled, and authentic learning setting.
The establishment of such a Centre within a university hospital represents a unique model in Georgia and constitutes the first precedent in the country’s higher medical education system, creating an innovative framework that closely aligns medical education with clinical practice and international standards.
