On June 21, 2025, the student club Neurozeal of East European University, with the support of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences, organized the conference Brain and Beyond’25 on the theme “Cognition Under Pressure.”
The conference was opened by Elene Zurabishvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences at East European University. Participants were also welcomed by the president of the club, Yashashri Jadhav, a 7th-semester student of the Medical Doctor program, as well as by the invited keynote speakers: Giorgi Tsiklauri (psychologist, Assistant Professor at East European University), Vanda Chanturidze (forensic psychiatrist, Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau), and Ketevan Kiknadze (NVU Well-being Center).
The conference included presentations on stress and cognitive functions, where students presented research on decision-making, memory, and neuropsychology; poster sessions addressing shared decision-making in oncology diagnosis, biomarkers of stress, and the impact of “Second Victim Syndrome”; interactive sessions with practical activities on recognizing cognitive bias and resilience training that provided participants with practical tools for stress management; and a panel discussion on the topic Digital Age Dilemma: Screen Time, Stress, and Brain Health.
The event concluded with a summary session and the distribution of certificates to participants.
The conference once again highlighted students’ scientific engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the promotion of future professionals’ development.
