On May 4–5, 2026, the international conference titled: “Higher Education: Global Perspectives, Local Impact” was held in Baku. Representatives of East European University who participated in the conference included:
- Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Vice-Rector of East European University;
- Professor Vasil Kikutadze, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Engineering;
- Professor Davit Sikharulidze, Head of the Department of Scientific Research and Development.
- Emeritus Professor Paul Gibbs – Head of the EEU Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development Center,
Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili delivered a presentation entitled “The Future of Higher Education: Advancing Youth Well-Being at Universities, Evidence from Georgia and the United Kingdom.” The presentation explored the significance of well-being in higher education and highlighted both research findings and practical experiences from Georgia and the United Kingdom.
As part of the visit, meetings were held with representatives of various educational institutions, including the Vice-Rector of TED University, Ankara, Turkey and senior representatives of Azerbaijan University. The primary focus of these meetings was the development of future cooperation, as well as joint educational and scientific initiatives.
The conference brought together representatives of international academic circles and the higher education sector to discuss contemporary challenges and future development prospects in higher education.
