‘’Varlam Cherkezishvili’s Personality’’ – A public lecture by Prof. Dimitri Shvelidze. The event will take place online on Thursday the 20th of May at 17.00 (Tbilisi time).
Varlam Cherkezishvili (1846-1925) is an important figure in the Georgian intellectual space, although his personality is not well known to the general public. The aim of the lecture is to provide information on Varlam Cherkezishvili’s contribution to the struggle for national independence and to the world anarchist movement.
Speaker: Prof. Dimitri Shvelidze was the editor of the first volume of Varlam Cherkezishvili’s works published by the Georgian National Academy of Sciences in 2011. He has written numerous articles on Cherkezishvili’s life.
