Doctoral Educational Program in Education Sciences is the first English doctoral program in Georgia, supported by the University of Middlesex (UK). Academic and invited staff from UK and leading European countries (France, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Austria, etc.) are involved in the implementation of the program.

Program Admission Precondition
- Admission to the PhD program of Education Sciences requires the applicant to hold a Masters Degree or an equivalent academic degree.
- Candidates for the doctoral program will be enrolled on the basis of university internal examinations;
- University internal examinations include English language testing and interview with a field commission.
- International Certificate of English C1 (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CERTUS) level proficiency exempts the candidate from the English language testing. Candidates who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree in English in the last 2 years are also exempted from the English language test.

- Submitting documents – 5th – 10th September;
- Foreign Language Exam – 13th of September;
- Announcement of foreign language exam results – 15th of September;
- Application for foreign language exam results appeal 15th -16th January;
- Results of the appeal – 17th of September;
- Specialty Exam (interview with the field commission) – 19th of September;
- Announcement of specialty exam results – 21th of September;
- Signing contracts – 22th -26th September;
Required Documents:
Receiving documents is carried out in two stages:
Stage I: From September 5 to September 10, the doctoral candidate must submit the following documents (duly certified):
- Application;
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) (in case of mentioning scientific publications and participation in conferences in the data on education and labor activity, the candidate for enrollment in the doctoral program must submit copies of the mentioned materials);
- Notarized copies of the Master’s diploma or the equivalent academic degree and Diploma Supplement/ certificate on awarding the academic degree;
- In case of submitting a one-level, five-year, certificate of higher education, a document certifying the degree equalization with the academic degree (issued by the National Center for Education Quality Development);
- The certificate of recognition of education received in a foreign country (if any, Notarized copy);
- Copy of ID card / passport (In case of foreign citizenships, translated notarized of the Passport);
- Photo (3X4) – Printed 2 pcs. and an electronic version on CD;
- Notarized copy of military registration document / military ticket (for Georgian citizens subject to military registration);
- Explanation that the applicant is not enrolled in a doctoral program at another educational institution;
- Research Statement (to be completed in English);
- Cover letter in English (see instructions on the link);
- A notarized copy / original of the C1 level English language (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CERTUS) proficiency certificate (if any) or a document certifying the study of an English educational (master / doctoral) program in the last 2 years;
- Criminal Record (CRB);
- Notice of Health Condition
Stage II: From September 15 to September 17, the candidate must submit:
- Scientific Supervisor’s (Faculty academic or invited professor selected by the candidate) the Recommendation;
- Program Leader Recommendation/Consent;
