On October 10-11 of this year, the 4th Hybrid International Scientific-Practical Conference (ISPC 2024): “Digital Management and Artificial Intelligence” was held in Cologne (Germany), organized by the East European University (Tbilisi, Georgia), Electronic Commerce Institute (Cologne, Germany) and the International University of Applied Sciences (Cologne, Germany).

Conference was held in partnership with the Friedrich Eber Stiftungt Foundation, the German Entrepreneurship Organization (FGF), Adelphi University (USA), GKV Informatik, Web de Cologne, the health insurance company “AOk”, LIBF, AAIH_ and STARTPLATZ.

Organizers of the conference announced the fifth ISPC 2025!

As part of the Young Scientists’ Week 2024 initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, on June 17 of this year, an international scientific conference of pupils and students was held at the East European University: “Young scientists for the better future of the planet”.

The aim of the Young Scientists’ Week 2024 was to popularize science, technology and innovation in Georgia, to present the country’s scientific and innovative potential, to introduce researchers’ achievements to the general public, to motivate and support young scientists. Accordingly, the international scientific conference of pupils and students “Young scientists for the better future of the planet” aimed to stimulate the joint involvement of pupils and students in scientific activities and popularize science. The event promoted dialogue and cooperation between representatives of different disciplines.

The conference was opened by the Rector of East European University, Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili. Associate Professor Zurab Aznaurashvili, consultant of the “Science Promotion” program of the Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, welcomed the participants.

The conference was attended by field experts, EEU students, staff and other invited guests.

The event was attended by Georgian and international students of East European University, as well as students from more than 10 different higher educational institutions and public schools in Tbilisi. The international scientific conference was held in two parallel sessions:

On May 15, 2024, the East European University (EEU) together with the HR Professionals Guild (HRPG) held a student scientific-practical conference dedicated to Human Resources Day: “The multidisciplinary challenges of HR in the age of artificial intelligence.”

The goal of the conference was to stimulate the active involvement of students in scientific activities and to promote the generation of new ideas.

The conference was opened by the Rector of East European University, Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili. The participants were welcomed by the head of the human resources management master’s program of the Faculty of Business and Engineering of EEU, the founder of the HR Professionals Guild (HRPG), Professor Lili Bibilashvili.

Students of East European University and various higher educational institutions participated in the event.

Within the framework of the conference, modern challenges in the field of HR were discussed in the context of the development of artificial intelligence. The speakers presented their vision of the multidisciplinary issues that are relevant in the field of human resources management in the conditions of technological transformation.

The conference participants discussed such key topics as:

• Using artificial intelligence to automate HR processes;
• Necessity of retraining employees in the new technological reality;
• Importance of developing digital skills and more.

The conference was held in the format of a panel discussion. The participants exchanged their positions, ideas and conclusions, and also shared practical experience.

Such a platform contributes to the formation of young researchers and their integration in the field of HR, which is especially important in today’s dynamic and changing environment.

The presentations delivered at the conference aroused high interest from both the students and the audience, which was demonstrated by the discussions that took place after each presentation.

Based on this, a plan was drawn up to give such discussions an active character (in the form of seminars), in which both students and academic personnel and other interested persons will be able to participate.

Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development Center and the Faculty of Education Sciences organized the Annual National Doctoral Conference at East European University (EEU) on September 2 of the current year.

The aim of the conference was to create a platform within which doctoral students could express their positions, exchange ideas and findings, improve research skills, and conduct productive discussions. The event promoted dialogue and cooperation between representatives of different disciplines.

The conference was opened by the head of the EEU Doctoral and Higher Education Research Development Center, Professor Paul Gibbs, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the East European University, Shalva Machavarian.

East European University (EEU) organized a joint conference “School Education: Modern Challenges and Innovations” for university and school students on June 4 of the current year.

The conference aimed to encourage collaborative participation of university and school students in scientific activities, facilitate the exchange of student experiences, identify key issues in the field of general education, and explore innovative approaches to address them.

The conference commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Ketevan Aptarashvili, the Dean of the EEU Education Sciences Faculty, followed by a welcoming address from Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, the University’s rector. The event was attended by experts in the field of general education, school teachers, administrators, students, EEU academic staff, as well as students and alumni.

During the first panel of the conference, the key speaker delivered a presentation on the challenges faced in the realm of school education:

• Shalva Tabatadze (“New school model”), Chairman of the Civil Integration and Interethnic Relations Center, EEU Associate Professor, and a member of the Council of the EEU Education Sciences Faculty, presented at the conference. Shalva Tabatadze is a winner of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) award for outstanding contributions to education reforms.
• Tamar Toloraia (“Importance and goals of early education”), Head of the Department of Preschool Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, and EEU Assistant Professor
• Giorgi Chanturia (Flipped Classroom), Director of the Education Coalition, Counseling and Training Center (CTC) School Lab, education specialist associated with the “Strengthening Schools Initiative”. Giorgi Chanturia is a doctoral candidate in educational sciences at East European University.

Students from classes IX, X, XI, and XII, representing both public and private schools, actively participated in the conference. The students collaborated with both students and graduates of East European University education programs to prepare their conference topics, both individually and collectively.

At the end of the conference, the two best conference papers were selected by the academic committee. The authors of the winning papers are as follows:

On December 16, 2022, under the organization of the Department of Scientific Research and Development of the East European University, a university student scientific conference was held: “Development Opportunities of the Country under post-pandemic Conditions“.

The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Shalva Machavariani, the vice-rector for Scientific Affairs of East European University. The participants were welcomed by the Rector of the same university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili and Head of the Department of Scientific Research and Development Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davit Sikharulidze.

The student conference was attended by all three level students of Business and Engineering and Law and Soc. Sciences Faculties of East European University.

During the conference, the participants delivered paper on such actual issues of the post-pandemic situation as: features of managing emotional intelligence; Human resource management challenges and opportunities; Possibilities of development of primary real estate market; the relationship between the teacher and the student and its influence on the learning process; student-oriented teaching (Case of  East European University); Importance of pre-school readiness program; The use of formative assessment in the teaching process at the primary level; Teachers’ attitude to the teacher’s professional development and career advancement scheme; involvement of parents in the school life of students; Principles and possibilities of team work in school; Opportunities or risks of replacing face-to-face teaching with distance learning at the basic-secondary level of education; the academic performance of the graduate student and its role in determining employment and remuneration; Involvement of parents in the distance learning process of elementary school students – challenges and problems; access to the educational process of homeless students on the example of Georgia; The Walt Disney Company – Strategic Management Project; excessive involvement of parents in the teaching-learning process; Internship in the post-pandemic period;

At the end of the event, students were given certificates for the successful participation in the conference.

The conference aimed at promoting general discussion on management of forced migration caused by war; sharing students’ views and knowledge of impact of the war on the economy and politics and role of states in this process.

Welcoming speeches were given by Kakhaber LAZARASHVILI, the Rector of the East European University; Shalva MACHAVARIANI, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Lela GOGINAVA, Director of the Migration and Diaspora Research Center.

Kakhi KENKADZE – Research Fellow of Harvard University and Georgian think-tank “Geocase”; Nino LEZHAVA- Research analyst at the Parliamentary Research Center of Georgia and Tatiana SITCHINAVA, PhD Student of the Tbilisi State University were the keynote speakers at the first session of the conference. The speakers reviewed the causes and consequences of forced migration caused by war, security challenges and responding steps by the international community, as well as the immigration situation in Georgia as a result of the war in Ukraine.

The second part of the conference was devoted to researchers and students from different universities of the world, followed by the discussion around the topic of the conference.

At the end of the conference, participants were awarded certificates.

On November 4. 2022, East European University and the Institute of Electronic Commerce (Cologne, Germany) organized the second online international scientific-practical conference: “Digital Management, Chances and Challenges of Technology “.

The event was opened by the heads of the organizing committee of the conference, the vice-rector for scientific affairs of East European University, Professor Shalva Machavariani, and the director of the Electronic Commerce Institute, Professor Richard Geibel.

The conference participants were welcomed by the head of the Academic Council of the East European University Professor Davit Cherkezishvili and the rector of the East European University, Professor Kakhaber Lazarashvili.

The conference was held in three sessions:

Session I: Digitalization in business

Moderator: Teona Shugliashvili, PhD student, Institute of Electronic Commerce (Cologne, Germany).

At the conference, together with the scientists and doctoral students of the East European University and the Institute of Electronic Commerce presentations were delivered by young researchers and field specialists of Georgian universities.

The event was attended by the academic staff and students of the organizing universities, as well as various higher educational institutions of Georgia and Germany.

At the conference, the participants discussed the chances of digital transformation, existing challenges and current issues of excellence.

Like the conference held in 2021, it was decided to publish conference proceedings in the Springer publishing house.

The event was summarized by the representatives of the organizing universities and the future plan of ISPC 2023 was outlined.

On April 2^nd, 2022 the East European University hosted the teacher’s Conference at the new campus of the university on “Feminization of migration and its impact on adolescents”. The conference aimed learning the impact of feminization of labour migration on the mental health of adolescents, the quality of their education and the ethical side of the relationship with the immigrant mother.

Welcoming speeches were given by Kakhaber LAZARASHVILI, the Rector of the East European University and Tea IMEDADZE – the Vice -Rector for International and Administrative Affairs.

The second part of the conference was dedicated to the discussion, which was attended by psychologists Ketevan KOBALADZE and Paata AMONASHVILI, staff of the University and the Migration and Diaspora Research Center.

On January 29, 2022, East European University hosted a student scientific conference in a hybrid format: ,,Development Opportunities of the Country under Post-pandemic Conditions“

The event was opened by Dr. Shalva Machavariani, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of East European University.

Acting Rector of East European University Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili welcomed the conference participants.

Students from the East European University’s Master’s Program in Education Research and Administration and One cycle Medical Doctor program were selected to participate in the student conference.

The event was also attended by the academic staff of the organizing university, students and other field specialists.

Participants discussed issues such as: Need for sex education in Georgian educational institutions and the public attitudes; Teaching in a small contingent school: a challenge or an advantage?; Main factors for strengthening the effectiveness of private tutoring in Georgia; Parental engagement in distance learning of primary school pupils – challenges and problems; Development opportunities after post pandemic conditions; Impact of COVID on cognitive functions of international medical students; Education-Development Opportunity of the Country under Post-pandemic Conditions Administration.

The presentations delivered at the conference arouse great interest from both the students and the attending audience, which was reflected in the discussions that followed each presentation. Based on the above, a plan was made to give such discussions an active character, in which students, academic staff and other stakeholders will be able to participate.

At the end of the event, students were awarded certificates for successful participation in the conference.

On November 18^th, 2021 East European University Research Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies and Department of Scientific Research and Development with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Issues organized the online student scientific conference “Migration and Diaspora – global challenges” 

The opening speech was made by Dr. Shalava Matchavariani, Vice –Rector for Scientific Affairs of the East European University. 

The participants of the conference were welcomed by Dr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili,  Acting Rector of the East European University, Vladimer Konstantinidi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, Dr. Pierre-Alexandre Crevaux, Representative of the President of Georgia on Diaspora Issues, Dr. Irma Tsereteli, Coordinator for Program Migration and Diaspora in Georgia CIM/GIZ. The conference was moderated by Lela Goginava, Head of the Migration and Diaspora Research Center, East European University.   The undergraduate and PhD Students from the East European University, Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Caucasus International University, Vienna State University and the Free University of Berlin presented papers at the conference.

At the end the scientific commission of the conference evaluated and rewarded three best papers and authors. The winners of the Conference will be rewarded by special prizes (Cash reward in the amount of 500, 300 and 200 GEL); other participants will receive certificates.

In a Q&A session, participants discussed issues such as digitization, digital transformation, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, Big Data, blockchain, online marketing, digital law, digital social innovation, digital ethics, digital teaching at universities, and etc.

The event was summed up by the representatives of the organizing universities, who gave a traditional look to the Georgian-German conference and outlined the future plan for ISPC 2022.

On October 29-30, 2021 East European University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University organized a two-day online international conference: The University Purpose and Institutional Autonomy: Challenges and Their Impact on Georgia.

On January 26, 2021 Doctoral Education Development Center and Interdisciplinary Research Center organized an online-workshop: ,,COVID-19 and Higher Education: Interdisciplinary Perspectives’’.

The workshop aimed at interdisciplinary analyzes of higher education challenges (learning, teaching, research) resulted by global pandemic.

On October 21-23, 2020 East European University took participation in EDEN (European Distance and E-learning Network) RW11 Research Workshop: ’’Enhancing the Human Experience of Learning with Technology: New challenges for research into digital, open, distance & networked education’’.

The theme and scope of EDEN’s RW11 intends to reflect the current challenges researchers face regarding the impact of the emerging digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence in the improvement of the quality of the human learning experience.  Mainly the following issues were discussed throughout the workshop:

• How to assure truly equitable and social fair access to digital learning opportunities?
• How to conduct effective online learning?
• How to improve teachers’ and learners’ digital competences?
• How may AI and machine learning contribute to enhance the education process and make it more flexible and personal?

The student online conference: „The Significance of Online Learning during Global Challenges of COVID-19 and Medical Education”, organized by the Faculty of Healthcare of East European University, was held on 20^th of July. The conference was conducted via EEU’s Microsoft licensed software Teams 365.

The East European University students, as well as students from other universities were participated in the conference.  At the end of the conference, all the participants received the E-Certificates. On November 8-9, 2018 the workshop: “Building States and Nations in Turbulent Contexts” was held in Yerevan (Armenia) jointly organized by PONARS, Yerevan State University, and Russian-Armenian University, dedicated to the discussion of the most important issues for Georgia.

Scholars from East European University, Lasha Kharazi and Nodar Shoshiashvili took participation in the workshop and delivered presentations about building states and nations.

On November 3-6, 2018 East European University took participation in the ICEF Berlin Workshop.

Under the event 57 seminars, expert panels and presentations were delivered. Mainly Higher education institutions held meetings with approximately 40 organizations with student recruitment agencies or other providers throughout the world. Meetings lasted for 25 minutes and acquired sharing mutual interest.

Conducted meeting opened EEU one more opportunity to widen the international cooperation range.

On October 4-6, 2018 Patch (Hungary) hosted the Conference, General Assembly of the Association and Executive Committee Meeting Organized by Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE).  One of the crucial topic: „Best Practice for Research teaching in Medical Education” was discussed during the conference.

Under the special symposium presentation: „Programmatic Issues of the MD Students Progress in Developing Scientific Skills and Aspects of Their Quality Evaluation Benchmarks” prepared by EEU Associate Professor Nato Alavidze and DTSU MOU. Presentation was about:

• Elaborating science-oriented teaching strategy at the modern Medical School;
• Actual components for conceptual base;
• Program Implementation Methodology;
• Compulsory and elective ways of the development of students’ skills in DM program.
• The importance of evaluation criteria (research oriented study) in the context of conscientiousness and collaboration (at the national and international levels).

The following presentations and discussions were delivered under the special symposium:

• The best practice for boosting organization and administration of research-oriented teaching in the oral Medical Education.

European Medical Schools’ students delivered presentations at the conference.

Meetings and presentation of laboratories were also carried out.

On September 11-14, 2018 East European University took participation in the largest international education fair-conference of European Association for International Education (EAIE) in Geneva.

The conference programme was packed with interesting sessions, networking events and knowledge-sharing opportunities. It’s been 30^th year since conference is held various countries of Europe. In 2018 fair was attended by 230 participants from USA, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Turkey and various European countries.

At the conference EEU had chance to launch contacts, exchange practice and seek for new partners. Conference was crucial by its opportunity to launch contacts, exchange practice and seeking for new partnerships.

On May 16, 2018 HR Professional Guild and East European University organized third international HR conference: ’’Technology Era and HR’’.

The purpose of the conference was to explore the latest software and technology solutions, innovations, new HR tools, and resource utilization in the VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) world of human resources management effectively and efficiently.

The conference was attended by 14 representatives from different countries throughout world; Heads of government agencies, NGOs and successful private companies, directors of HR services, specialists.

On June 7, 2018 EEU Scientific Department organized seminar ’’Protection of Intellectual Property by using Electronic Resources”, delivered by Prof. Temur Maisuradze for the Law and Business Administration Faculty MA and Ph.D. students.

EEU professor spoke about the importance of copyright protection and emphasized the role of electronic resources in this process. He also introduced one of the certified mechanisms of the protection of copyright of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia “SAKPATENTI” and talked about its profitable sides.

Higher Education Council for Great Britain and Middlesex University organized 6^th International Scientific Conference in London, where East European University took participation by the representatives: Dr. David Cherkezishvili, Rector and Vice-rector Tea Imedadze.

Conference organizers emphasized that out of the developing countries Georgia was the first country that participated in the conference.

Dr. David Cherkezishvili presented the paper focusing on the importance of implementation the vocational doctorate in Georgia, as the key factor for improving applied sciences by the integration of researchers to business and economics, that will have positive affect on the development of the country and enhancing its innovative potential as well.

At the workshops held after the conference, there was decision made that the University of London’s (UCL) department of academic programs’ development will be directly involved in the development of Doctoral Programs in East European University (Law, Business Administration).

Particularly, the British model of involvement of companies and organizations in the process of delivering and conducting researches under the Doctoral Programs will be shared, East European University academic staff will be trained in the research and teaching methods and also Doctoral program in education will be implemented/carried out.

Under the entire support of academic staff and on the basis of Master Degree Program in Healthcare Management of Greenwich University at the EEU premises there will be implemented Master degree program in Healthcare.

East European University will visit Britain one more time in 2020, at the 7^th international scientific conference and will present report on joint activities conducted within 2 years.

On October 3, within Science and Innovation International Festival 2017, East European University organized the conference: ’’Modern Educational Programs for Supporting Agri-business Development’’ at Georgian Technical University.

Conference participants were representatives of East European University, LEPL Agricultural Cooperative Development Agency, LEPL National Wine Agency of Ministry of Agriculture and LEPL Community College “Gldani Vocational Training Center”.

Conference was held under the ,,Innovation and Science International Festival, 2017’’  initiated by the Ministry of Education  and Science of Georgia.

East European University organized Conference-Workshop: ’’Basic Conditions for Innovative Potential Enhancement’’ at the conference hall of ’’Open Society Foundation – Georgia’’.

Workshop was held under the,,Innovation and Science International Festival, 2017’’ initiated by the Ministry of Education  and Science of Georgia.

Such vital issues like: Georgian Innovative Development: current state, perspectives and obstacles, role of innovations and their practical necessity under the realty of Europe and our country, acquiring export potential as the measurement tool of economic innovativeness, electronic government– modern method of governing and etc.

Organizers David Cherkezishvili, East European University rector and Tamaz Marsagishvili, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia opened the workshop.  Along with the representatives of academic society, government and non NGOs Denis Hawkes, Head of Scientific Department, Professor of London University made the report during the workshop.

At the end of the conference discussion was held andcrucial ways for innovation potential enhancement of the country was drawn out.

In National Library of Georgia East European University, GIPA and Caucasus International University held a scientific-practical conference: doctoral dissertations at improving the quality, as the innovative potential of the opportunity.

The conference was attended by Georgian and foreign education experts and other specialists working in the field of education.

The participants were welcome by the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia Tamaz Marsagishvili and Rector of East European University, David Cherkezishvili.

The goal of conference was to raise the quality of scientific work and their sales caused by the country’s economic potential.

On the conference were discussed the issues of raising the quality of PhD thesis, their business and production in connection with the implementation of existing roads and the elimination of the problems as well as raising public awareness.

On November 18, 2018 East European University, Caucasus University, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs by the co-participation of Tbilisi European Youth Center and financial support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation organized students’ scientific conference: ’’European Integration Perspectives of Georgia’’ at the Hotel Beaumonde Garden’’.

Master and doctorate students of the faculties of Law, Economics, Business Administration and Social Sciences participated in the conference. Conference aim was to reveal scientific potential of young researchers and to boost their professional growth. Scientific papers were evaluated by Georgian and international moderators. Best scientific papers were awarded and printed in the collection of scientific papers.

Event was attended by David Cherkezishvili, East European University rector, professors: Shalva Machavariani, Shalva Kvinikhidze, Temur Maisuradze and representatives of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation, Caucasus University and GIPA.

On October 29, 2016 East European University at the Georgian Democratic Republic conference hall held presentation of the third volume of ’’Contemporary Law Review Journal’’. Event was attended by EEU students. Journal that has been publishing since 2013 is the joint publication of EEU and Davit Batonishvili Institute of Law.

3^rd volume comprises articles of the following authors: David Jaiani, Saba Phiphia, Kakhaber Uriadmkhopeli, Monika Gabunia, Nino Chitidze, Tamar Mskhvilidze and article of Hans-Ulrich Gavas on the basis of Mikheil Bichia translation.

Presentation was led by David Cherkezishvili, East European University rector, Professor Zurab Dzlierishvili and Dimitri Gegenava, deputy dean in science affairs of the faculty of law.

A joint workshop was held at Caucasus University’s Prof. Mzia Mikeladze’s  conference hall  by East European University, Caucasus University,  the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia  and  Innovation Council.  Theme was : ,, innovative potential  growth promotion in Georgia”: The participants of the workshop were:

the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Innovation Council, Innovation and Technology Agency, “Sakpatenti”, “GEOSTAT”, the state program “Produce in Georgia”, universities (East European University, Tbilisi state University, Caucasus University, Georgian  Technical  University, Georgian  Institute of public Affairs(GIPA)), and non-governmental organizations  and  representatives of  the operating funds in Georgia, scientist, practitioners.

Today was held joint conference  by East European University and Caucasus University named  ,, Agricultural Science Day “,  which was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

The conference theme was: ” to implement professional  and high education innovative educational programs for promotion of Georgia’s agribusiness development.  The conference was opened by The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Alexander Jejelava. The participants were welcomed by  The Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, the Technical University, East European University and  the Research Center of the Academy of Sciences heads.

The participants of the conference were professors, agribusiness representatives and students of :The the Agricultural Committee, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Agriculture Project Management Agency, Agriculture Research Center of the National Food Agency, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), East European University and  Caucasus University,.

On April, 2016 presentation of EEU innovative projects was delivered at ’’Techpark’’. Event was attended by the representatives of public and business sector. After the workshop of design and architecture program (relevant to the international standards of .Autodesk) presentations of Master Degree Program in HR and innovative platform of Agribusiness were delivered.

Except this Georgian educational sector is added by the training of diplomatic protocol and ethics. The trilateral signature ceremony was held at the event, in compliance with the full protection of protocol rules.

Training center with modern standards is starting functioning at the East European University premises. Since completing the short-term courses at the center, certificates in two languages will be issued. At the above mentioned event the attendees were suggested to participate in the quiz, where from 3 of the winners were given opportunity to take courses at EEU Training Center.  Presented educational programs at the EEU presentation oriented to the modern market place.

On January 28-29, 2016 the 3^rd National Conference was held in Constitutional Law.  The conference is held annually and is attended by professors, researchers and experts of constitutional law. The first panel of events was dedicated to the constitutionalism of 800 and the second – the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of Georgia. The second panel opened EEU rector, David Cherkezishvili, director of David Batonishvili Institute of Law, Assistant-professor Dimitri Gegenava and deputy parliamentary secretary, Assistant-professor Zurab Macharadze.

On June 17, 2015 the presentation of the International Law Journal – ’’CONTEMPORARY LAW REVIEW’’ was held at the East European University.
The presentation was attended by representatives of legal sphere, field specialists, acting practitioners and students. Members of editorial board, professor of East European University, Zurab Dzlierishvili and Assistant-professor Dimitri Gegenava delivered speeches.

Irakli Burduli, dean of the faculty of Law at the Tbilisi State University congratulated publication of the journal outlining that the importance of the development of the education of modern law, and expressed entire readiness for fulfilling joint projects along with the East European University in future.
David Cherkezishvili, EEU rector thanked to Mr. Burduli and invited guests for attending the event and confirmed the possibility of fulfilling joint projects in future along with TSU.

On June 4, 2015, East European University organized seminar on the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia organized seminar on ’’LIFELONG EDUCATION IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION CONTEXT’’ at National Library of the Parliament of Georgia. The seminar was conducted by Linz University professor, Education Expert Jan Boem.

Irine Darchia, Head of the Education and Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia welcomed the participants of the seminar.

Jan Boem is invited lecturer at the Masters Degree program of Educational Researches and Administration. Head of the above mentioned program Ms. Nino Sozashvili delivered presentation of the program. She outlined that this program will give students opportunity to continue studies at the University of Linz.

Seminar was also attended by representatives of education sphere and students as well. At the end of the seminar EEU rector expressed gratitude to the seminar attendees and conference participants and wished them further success.

On May 25, 2015 NGO-Association of Liberal Vision organized scientific conference under the theme: ’’TOLERANCE-THE RESULT OF HUMANISM’’ at the East European University premises.
Totally 8 students of various universities participated in the conference.
Members of the committee were: David Cherkezishvili, EEU rector, Archil Abashidze, Professor at ILIAUNI, Nino Okhanashvili and President of Association of Liberal Vision.

After the conference committee revealed 3 winners. All the conference participant were given relevant certificates.

By the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgian Youth on May 9,10,11, 2015 East European University hosted conference: ’’MODELLING OF UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION’’ where 50 students selected on the basis of interviews. 4 committees who suggested the following themes for discussion:  Cyber security issues, Syria and Iraq, “Islamic State”, protection of transgender rights, global warming and its negative consequences.

The final ceremony of the conference was held at the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia, where each committee speaker revealed the conference winners who were awarded by the certificates.

On May 13, 2015 East European Teaching University hosted seminar: ’’FREEDOM AND ECONOMIC FREEDOM-PRIVATE PROPERTY, THE GUARANTEE OF FREEDOM’’ by the support of Economic Policy Expert Center and “Friedrich Naumann Foundation”.

The aim of the seminar was to acquaint students with importance of economic freedom and private property, to determine interrelationship among economic freedom and private property. Conference attendees were awarded certificates.

On April 15 2015, under the NATO Jubilee day, students’ awarding ceremony of the conference: ’’EVERYTHING ABOUT NATO’’ was held. The event was attended by Ms. Elene Gotsadze, Director of Information Center of NATO who awarded the conference winners.  Ms. Elene Gotsadze talked about the importance of Georgia’s integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and European values. Event was held under the framework of the week of NATO. Invited professor of East European University, Mr. Zurab Kukuladze, Vice-rector of East European University, Ms. Tea Imedadze and East European University rector, Mr. David Cherkezishvili addressed and congratulated the conference attendees. Under the competition 7 competitors were selected. The winner Giorgi Gochashvili delivered his own presentation. Students were awarded souvenirs and prizes.

On March 23, 2015 at East European University was held seminar: ’’PERSPECTIVES OF DOCTORATE EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN GEORGIA’’ dedicated to 10^th anniversary of quality assurance enhancement system at Georgian universities.

Three aspects were discussed at the seminar: Knowledge Triangle and Ph.D. education based on the market research; Doctorate school, as the optimal form of the development and management of doctorate education; Internationalization of doctorate education.

David Cherkezishvili East European University rector and Professor Shalva Machavariani opened the seminar. Presentations were delivered by:

Erasmus + Office Coordinator and education expert – Lika Glonti. EEU Vice-rector-Irine Darchia and Marketing research analyst of company ’’ACT’’ Nino Kerkadze. Discussion-educational seminars will become traditional at the EEU, that will focus on the actual issues of education system. Invitees of seminars will be Georgian as well as international specialists, experts of education who will introduce the modern west tendencies of education development and conducted researches in Georgia, they will also discuss education system problems and their solving ways as well.

On 13 February 2015 there was held the presentation of the project: “Higher Education – Research and Business – for Employment and Development” .

The project guarantees an effective link between the parties of the “knowledge Triangle”, which is one of the main challenges for not only Georgian educational System, but for the European one as well. For the record, the “Knowledge Triangle” is one of the priorities of the Educational Policy of EuroComission as well as one of the newest tendency for the European Higher Education System.

The information about the project was presented by the Expert of the National Office of Erasmus+ for the Reform of the Higher Education, the Pro-rector of the EEU, Dr. Irine Darchia and Proff. Shalva Matchavariani. The speeches was delivered by the Minister of the Finance of Georgia, Mr. Nodar Khaduri, the Deputy Head of the Committee of Economic Politic of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. Temur Maisuradze, the Head of the Committe of the Development of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Mr. Nugzar Chitaia, the CeO of Ltd. “Gino Paradise” Mr. Nodar Giorgadze, the Executive Director of LtD “Dio”, Mr. Tamaz Daushvili.

It is important to mention that the project is supported by Ltd “GIno Paradise” (Investor), SS “Lomisi” (International Private Company) and Ltd “Dio” (Georgian Company).

In the scope of the Project, the students will have a chance to take an internship in those companies, as well as write their Master and Doctoral thesises in cooperation with those companies needs. The results of the sucessful research by students will be further developed in those companies, which will be the guarantee of their successful cooperation.

On Decmber 29, 2014 EEU hosted the II National Conference in Constitutional Law in the Conference. The conference is co-organized by the Prince David Institutte for Law. The topic of the conference was: “The form of state governance: “The constitutional reality of Georgia and prospectives”.

The opening ceremony of the coference was made by the Head of the Committee of Legal Issues in the Parliament of Georgia, Vakhtang Khmaladze, the Judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Zurab Dzlierishvili and the Rector of the East European University, David Cherkezishvili.

The participants of the conference were: Vasil Gonashvili, Dimitry gegenava, Tengiz Tevzadze, Tamar Papashvili, Paata Javakhishvili, Zurab Jibgashvili, Lana Tsanava, Eka Kavelidze, Zurab matcharadze, Salome Tsutsumia.

The repors of the conference will be published as a book and will be accessible to any interested individual.

On October 25, 2014 the EEU hosted the International Scientific Conference on the Innovative Teaching Guidelines. The conference was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the EEU, Mrs. Irma Barbakadze and the professeur of the same faculty, Mrs. Nino Sozashvili.

The Rector of the EEU, Mr. David Cherkezishvili delivered a greeating speech and wished to the audience a productive conference.

The report on the Plenary was made by the professeur of the Austrian Pedagogic Institute, Doctor Ian Boh, with the topic: The recognition of Informal Education.
The heads of the working groups presented the reports of committee working.

The conference was delivered in a very interesting atmosphere. At the end of the conference, the participants were awarded by the Certificates.

On May 24 Eastern European University held Georgia’s Independence Day celebrations. The event included a conference titled “The First Republic of Georegia” and a photo exhibition depicting the history of the independent republic of Georgia.

Conference speeches were delivered by David Cherkezishvili – Rector of the Eastern European University, Gigila Abulashvili – Chairman of the Agricultural Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Giorgi Sharvashidze – Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia – Mikheil Darchiashvili. The speakers emphasized on the importance of the celebration of the independence day of Georgia and spoke about the future challenges of Georgia. Finally, the Assistant professor of the EEU –  DImitry Gegenava delivered a speech on the Topic “Georgia’s Independence day – May 26”.

After the conference there was held the photo exhibition, where visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the history of the First Republic of Georgia.

On February 5, 2014  a presentation of the international refereed Journal “Contemporary Law Review” will be held in the East European University, in the Hall of Republic, 17:00 p.m. The journal is edited by the East European University and the Prince David Institute of Law.

In the volume of 2013 the journal includes Articles by Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze, Bachana Jishkariani, Archil Tsertsvadze, Ana Tokhadze, Dimitry Gegenava, Giorgi Burjanadze, Liana Giorgadze, Beka Dzamashvili and Mikheil Bichia.
